Romford Town all but sealed the Division One title again at the weekend as the team won the third of four rounds in this year's Essex Swimming League.

As the “B” team continued to battle it out for honours at the corresponding Division 2 fixture, the club's resources were stretched thinly as the “A” team tried to retain its Division one title.

The senior girls team with three first team regulars absent, still performed well with Georgia Hunton Clark completing a double set of victories as she took maximum points in the 100 metres Butterfly and Backstroke events. Fifteen-year-old year Jessica Coles, swam “up an age group” to win the open girls 100 metres Breastroke.

In the medley relay, Georgia was joined by Nicola Rees and two fourteen year olds, Stevie Coker and Kelsey Richards as the quartet won the open ladies event.

Kelsey continued to swim up an age group as she and Nic Rees were joined by 15 year Nicole Raymond and 12 year old Bethany Hall as this mixed quartet of age groups combined to win the open ladies 4 x 50 metre freestyle relay.

The open men’s team were in equally impressive form as the team of Daniel Stepton, Grant Chandler, Darren Stevenson and Billy Tubbs won both their medley and freestyle relay events.

The fifteen-year-old girls performed well, as Nicole Raymond won the 100 metres freestyle, Jessica Coles winning the 100 metres Breastroke and Kelsey Richards enjoying swimming in her own age group for the individual events coming 2nd in the 100 metres Butterfly.

The 15 years and under girls medley team of Stevie Coker, Jess Coles, Nicole Raymond and 13 year old Louise Harrington also having to swim up an age group, enjoyed success in winning this relay and did likewise in winning the freestyle relay.

There were also individual wins for Chris Stamp, 100 metres Butterfly, Jake Harrison 100 metres Breastroke and Tom Toolis 100 metres Freestyle.

Bethany Hall gained maximum points as she won the 13 years and under 100 metres Backstroke, whilst Jodie Momodu did likewise in winning the 100 metres Breastroke and Louise Harrington made it a trio of wins as she took the honours in the 100 metres Butterfly.

Kariena Tubbs and Hannah Coles joined Bethany and Jodie as the quartet came 2nd in the 13 years freestyle relay but went one better in winning the medley relay.

There was similar results for the 13 year old boys relay team as Sean Houlihan, Joseph Stamp, Alfie Burr and Thomas Clark joined forces to gain 2nd in the freestyle relay but 1st place in the medley relay.

Sean Houlihan went on to win his favourite 100 metres Breastroke in impressive fashion whilst Alfie Burr was 2nd in the 100 metres Butterfly and Tom Clark was 2nd in the 100 metres freestyle.

The 11 years and under girls medley relay team of Victoria Christmas, Brock Whiston, Sophie Thompson and Rose Webber came 3rd whilst Victoria gained a good 2nd place finish in the 50 metres Butterfly.
