28th July to 1st August 2010 - National Age Group Championships - Ponds Forge, Sheffield

Kieran Gore was the busiest of the Town swimmers having qualified in six events: 100m Backstroke, 100m and 200m Breaststroke, 400m Freestyle, 200m and 400m Individual Medley. He set personal best times in all his events and made three finals.In the 200 metres Breaststroke Kieran just missed out on a medal by three tenths of a second as he finished in 4th spot.Having qualified as 6th fastest for the final and despite swimming 2.5 seconds faster than his heat time. In the 200 metres Individual Medley in reaching the final as 8th fastest qualifier he gained a place to finish 7th. In the final of the 100 metres Breaststroke Kieran had to settle for tenth place. Kieran was one of the top 15 swimmers in his age group in the 400 metres Freestyle, where another personal best time gained him 15th spot whilist a three second "PB" earned him 11th spot and "first reserve" in the final of the 400m Individual Medley.

Team mate Calum Connelly was in the top 15 swimmers in the country for the 200 metres Butterfly in which training partner Jack Ayling was only just behind with a good swim to gain 16th place. Calum also managed a further top 15 place where a big personal best time saw him come 13th in the 100 metres Butterfly and another personal best time saw him swim well in his third event of the championships the 400 metres Individual Medley.

Jack Ayling also competed well in his two other events gaining valuable experience in both the 100 metres Butterfly and 400 metres Individual Medley.

13 year old Brock Whiston continued to gain valuable experience at National level, competing in her third consecutive National Championships as she competed in the 200 metres Butterfly and Breaststroke. Harry Coker making the 200 metres Butterfly in consecutive years gained good experience also.
