10-year-old Kieran Gore starred for Town as they confirmed their place in this year's regional final with a solid runners up spot behind a strong Barnet Copthall team.

Kieran wasn't put off by his busy schedule as he picked up wins in the 50 metres Butterfly and 50 metres Freestyle in his own age group. Before completing a fantastic treble in the 11 years age group 50 metres Breaststroke.

Aiden Jackson gained 2nd place in the 10 years 50 metres Breaststroke and was joined by Zac Coleman, Kieran and Oliver Coles for victory in the 10 years Medley relay and 2nd place in the Freestyle event.

Another busy 10 year old was Sophie Ward who was a winner in the 50 metres Butterfly and 3rd in the 10 years 50 metres Freestyle. Arabella Woolf did well to gain 3rd place in the 50m Breaststroke.

Hannah Binning also had a tough schedule as she gained 2nd places in the 9 year old 25 metres Freestyle and Breaststroke races. Team mate Chloe Thompson also grabbed a second place in the nine years 25 metres Backstroke. Victoria Bishop and Daisy Nolan-Day joined up with Hannah and Chloe as the nine-year-old quartet gained another 2nd place finish in their Freestyle relay, but had to settle for 3rd place in the Medley relay.

For the 9-year-old boys the fast-improving Mitchell Wilson gained a 2nd place in the 25m Butterfly and 3rd place in the 25m Freestyle. Sam Ellis, just back from illness, was 2nd in the 25 metres Breaststroke and came 3rd in the 25 metres Backstroke. Sam and Mitchell were joined by Harry Taylor and Sam Fitzroy who helped them take 3rd place in their Medley relays.

As in the first round, the girl’s Medley relay had got the club off to a great start as Victoria Christmas, Amy Gore, Brock Whiston and Emma Aston grabbed maximum points in winning the first race of the evening. A textbook finish gained Victoria Christmas 1st place in the 50 metres Backstroke. Amy Gore won the 50 metres Freestyle, but was edged into second place in the Breaststroke. The quartet of girls also came 2nd in the Freestyle relay.

12 year old James Kidd, who had just rushed back from a Triathlon in Derby, had a fine win in the 50 metres Butterfly, as did Oliver Applebee in the Breaststroke. Charlie Davis and 11 year old Conor Houlihan joined James and Oliver for 3rd place in the Freestyle relay.

11-year old Bethany Moore gained a victory in the 50 metres Freestyle and 3rd place in the Backstroke. Megan McAuliffe, Sophie Ward and Jodi Whitehead joined Bethany to gain 2nd place finishes in both their Freestyle and Medley relays.

In the boys 11 years age group Samuel Hollington earned 3rd place in the 50 metres Backstroke and was joined by Toby Mascall, Conor Houlihan and Sam Coker as they came 2nd in the Medley relay.

In the evening's final event the squadron relay team of Hannah Binning, Sam Ellis, Sophie Ward, Kieran Gore, Bethany Moore, Sam Hollington, Emma Aston and James Kidd had to settle for 3rd place.

Romford will be challenging strongly for a top three place in the regional final on 28th June.
