Saturday 17th April - Essex League Division 1 - Fullwell Cross

Town's prospects of retaining the Division 1 title for a 10th successive year looked slim as fixture chaos meant that some 50 swimmers were away competing at Millfield. However, a mixture of novices and masters joined up with our remaining troops to help Town to second place on the night which was more than enough to clinch an historic 10th Title win.

The night got off to the best possible start as Yasmin Morris, Katie Trott(10), Erin Corney(10) and Stephanie Tomlinson won the Girls 11 and Under Freestyle Relay. Tommy Beardsell, Alex Drury(10), Jonathan Toolis and Ben Davis swam well for 2nd place in the Boy's event. The same girl's quartet also won the Medley relay and there was another second place as Liam Fearon and Oliver Coles joined Jonathan and Tommy in their Medley team

Stephanie also had individual successes in the Girls 11 and under Freestyle and Butterfly events, whilst Erin and Katie picked up important second places in the Backstroke and Breaststroke events respectively.

For the under 11 Boys, Tommy won the Breaststroke and was second in the Freestyle with Jonathan 2nd in the Backstroke and Oliver 2nd in the Butterfly.

Our Open swimmers were setting a fine example for their less experienced teammates with Natalie Ward and Dean Martin both victorious in their 100m Open Butterfly swims. Whilst James Davis won both the Men's Open 100m Freestyle and Breassttroke events. Nicole Raymond was a winner in the Open Ladies 100m Freestyle and runner up in the Backstroke. Isabel Allsop swam well for second place in the Open Ladies 100m Breaststroke, as did Sam Whitehead in the 100m Open Mens Backstroke.

Kira Neal teamed up with Natalie, Nicole and Isabel for wins in the Ladies Open Medley and Freestyle Relays. Dean, James and Sam were joined by David Ward for maximum points again in the Mens Open relays.

Sam Allsop was in impressive form winning the Boys 13 and under 100m Butterfly and coming second in the 100m Freestyle. Oliver Applebee made a welcome return to competition in the 100m Backstroke. Emma Aston won the Girls 13 and under 100m Breaststroke and Laura Brooks was second in the 100m Backstroke. Amy Cooper and Rebecca Martin joined Emma and Laura for second place in both of the 13 and under Girls relays.

Charlotte Chuck smashed her previous best time to take second place in the Girls 15 and under 100m Butterfly and was joined by Emma Cooper, Shara Islam and Vanessa Sutton for a good 2nd place in their Freestyle relay event.Individulal success eluded our 15 and under Boys, but Tom Benson, Michael Fearon, Josh Rogers and Conor Toolis teamed up for a great win in their Freestyle Relay and runners up spot in the Medley.

A second place in the Squadron Relay from Yasmin Morris, Rebecca Martin, Vanessa Sutton, Kira Neal, Liam Fearon, Ben Davis, Tom Benson and David Ward brought the curtain down on an epic night for Town
