Essex County Championships (Block D) - 29th/30th March

This was the last of the four Essex County Age Group Championship weekends for 2008 and Town's swimmers continued their successes from the previous sessions. (Report)

Sean Houlihan, Kelsey Richards, Elena Sheridan and Daniel Stepton all came away as the top swimmer in their individual age groups. You can find out where you came in the Essex County ASA's (Results) section.
Coach's comment: "Aim to finish higher next year by working harder and increasing the number of sessions you attend. Don't put it off. Let's start now!"

Easter Holiday "Learn To Swim" Crash Courses - Abbs Cross School, Hornchurch

Beginners, Improvers & Advanced Level Courses. Weekly or Daily lessons available.

Romford Town swimmers faced their toughest test of the season so far as they took on some of the country’s best swimmers at the City of Sheffield’s three day Easter Open Meet at the International Ponds Forge pool.

Congratulations to Rosie Webber who was the first swimmer to submit an entry. Scores are being kept secret until after the closing date, but we can tell you that Rosie likes Kevin's page the best and she would like to see a different swimmer interviewed every month. Keep those entries coming in - C Squad are currently top squad by number of entries received!

Crystal Palace Re-opening Delayed

The current refurbishment of the National Sports Centre is now expected to be finished in September 2008. This means that the 2008 London BAGCATS in June will be held in Ealing.

St Edwards Secondary School Pool Re-opens

The pool re-opened on Monday 17th March. It is hoped that the work that has been carried out on the school's boiler systems will now stabilise the pool temperature.

2nd RTSC Team Building Weekend - Stubbers - 12th-14th September 2008

The cost is £95 per child - this includes 2 nights camping, all meals and 7 professionally supervised activities from jet skiing to tunnelling. (Full details)

Club Calendar Updates

17th/18th May - Rotherham Metro (Sheffield - Long Course) has replaced Bracknell (Aldershot - Long Course) in our Club Calendar. This is due to the Bracknell meet now being fully subscribed.
Enfield Open (17/18 May) and Killerwhales Summer Meet (22 June) also added to list.
Northampton "Non-National Qualifiers" Meet date now confirmed as 12th/13th July.

8th/9th March 2008 - Essex Championships (Block C)

Romford Town swimmers turned in some outstanding performances this weekend, amassing 17 new Essex County Titles from their 40 medal haul. These wins included 7 new National Qualifying Times and 2 Event Best Times. (Full report) (Results)

Romford secured the Griffin Trophy for Top Club in the Championship Relay competition and made a solid start to this year’s County Age Group Championships.(Full report)

Sunday 25th November 2007 - Essex Junior/Senior Championships

The Romford Town swimming team climbed to new heights as they exceeded expectations by winning the Hugh Joiner Trophy for the Top Club at this year’s Essex County Senior Championships. Having secured the runner up spot only last year, Towns young team went one better, producing some outstanding swims to snatch the Trophy from last year’s Champions the Borough of Waltham Forest.(Full report)
