Romford Otters Swim School - Summer Holiday Crash Courses
at Abbs Cross Health and Fitness Centre, Hornchurch
First Course Starts 28th July
- Each course consists of 5 lessons
- One lesson per day, Monday through to Friday
- Classes are 30 minutes long
- Choose a time between 9 and 11am
- 4 different weeks available
- Beginner and Improver classes
- Costs only £25 per week

Ipswich Junior Open Meet
Forms will be distributed for the Ipswich Junior Open Meet (25th/26th October) as soon as we return from the summer break. This is another important gala for those wishing to compete in the 2009 Essex County Championships and entries are again on a "first come first served" basis, so we will need to turn these forms around very quickly once they are circulated. Details are currently available from the Team Ipswich website,so you may wish to have a look at these now and save yourself a bit of time later.

Day One - Thursday
- Sean Houlihan wins 12 year Boys 100m Breaststroke by over 2 seconds in 1.13.61. A 4 second PB.
- Elena Sheridan 7th in 12 year Girls 400 IM also with a 4 second PB
- Brock Whiston 15th in 11 year Girls 400 IM with another 4 second PB
Day Two - Friday
- Sean Houlihan continues the trend from Day One with a 4 second PB in 400m IM. Sean is the 4th fastest qualifier for tonight's final.
- Elena Sheridan swims a one and a half second PB in the 200m Butterfly. She's the 2nd fastest qualifier and usually goes quicker in her finals.
- Sean eases into his second final of the day, the 100m Backstroke
- Elena is joined by Rachel Welsh, Bethaney Hall and Hariette Davis in the 400m Medley Relay. The girls smash their entry time by over 5 seconds.
- 12 year Boys 400m IM Final. Sean takes a further 3 seconds off this morning's heat time, but just misses out on a medal in 4th place.
- 12 year Girls 200m Butterfly Final. Elenor wins Town's 2nd medal of the Championships, a silver with a time 4 seconds faster than this morning.
- 12 year Boys 100m Backstroke Final. Sean achieves a small PB and 8th place in his final swim of the day.
Day Three - Saturday
- Elena Sheridan gets the 3rd day off to another good start as she qualifies 2nd fastest for tonights 12 year Girls 100m Butterfly Final.
- A PB for Sean Houlihan in the 12 year Boys 200m Backstroke, but he just misses out on a place in the final in 11th.
- Brock Whiston makes the 11 year Girls 200m Breaststroke Final. Another 4 second PB gets her under the 3 minute barrier and 10th place
- Bethaney Hall also swims a PB and will be 9th fastest going into the 12 year Girls 200m Breaststroke Final
- Sean Houlihan ensures that all the Romford swimmers will compete again tonight as yet another 4 second PB gets Sean into the 12 year Boys 200m IM Final as 4th fastest qualifier
- 12 year Girls 100m Butterfly Final. A remarkable second 50m hauls Elenor Sheridan up from ninth place to a silver medal in 1.06.53. Town's 3rd medal of this Championships.
- 11 year Girls 200m Breaststroke Final. 10th place for Brock Whiston at her 1st Nationals
- 12 year Girls 200m Breaststroke Final. 10th place for Bethaney Hall too.
- 12 year Boys 200m Individual Medley. Sean Houlihan wins silver with a time some 3 seconds quicker than in the heat. The Romford Town medal tally rises to four.
Day Four - Sunday
- Sean Houlihan swims a 2 second PB and, ranked 2nd, will be going for a Breaststroke double in the 12 year Boys 200m Final this evening
- Brock Whiston completes a successful first Nationals in the 11 year Girls 200 IM
- Elena Sheridan completes her schedule in 12 year Girls 200 IM
- Sean carves almost 7 seconds off his 200m heat time to win double Breaststroke Gold.
- Romford finish the National Age Groups with 5 medals - 2 Gold and 3 Siver. Town were represented in 10 of the Finals
Deadline Sunday 27th July!!! - Guildford City SC "Last Chance" County Qualifier Meet
Forms are currently being distributed for the Guildford Open Meet on 6th/7th December. This is an important gala for those wishing to compete in the 2009 Essex County Championships and entries are on a "first come first served" basis. Entry Forms must therefore be back to Jo or Debbie by Sunday 27th July.
