About RTSC

Romford Town Swimming Club has been providing a swim school in Havering and the surrounding communities since its inauguration on 16th September 1900. Now boasting some 400 members, we take pride in our family atmosphere and remain dedicated to providing the highest level of coaching from Learn to Swim right through to international competitive swimmers.

Romford Town Swimming Club achieved Swim 21 accreditation in Skill Development (Silver Award) and Sport England Clubmark recognition during the summer of 2005. Swim 21 is the Amateur Swimming Associations/British Swimming's nationally recognised Club Development Programme, centred on the needs of swimmers. Romford Town was the first swimming club in Havering to be given the Swim 21 and Sport England awards. Full details here.....

Romford Town is one of the largest and most successful clubs in Essex, being Essex League Champions for the past 5 years and having a number of swimmers selected to be on the England development scheme. Romford Town Masters swimmers (over 25 years) also hold a number of National titles as well as holding British and European records. We as a club will strive to 'better' such successes in the future!

Examples of the successes the Club has enjoyed in recent seasons are as follows:

1. Essex Senior/Junior Championship Winners!

2. Essex League Division 1 Champions for the 5th successive year!

3. 'B' Team crowned Essex League Division 2 Champions!

4. Masters Team adds a further British record to their collection!

5. Masters Team Essex Club Champions over the last 3 seasons!

6. Junior Speedo squad made the National Final twice in the last 5 years outperforming many larger City Squads!

7. Senior Speedo team made the London Final of the National Speedo League in last 2 seasons, beating a number of larger clubs along the way!

8. To these many fine Club achievements can be added an array of excellent individual performances, including National, Regional and County titles. All these help to create a strong, yet friendly environment for competitive swimmers to thrive in. Along the way we endeavour to build and develop swimmers techniques, whilst enhancing life and teamwork skills along the way.
